Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until the ingredients are incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal parts and shape them into round patties, approximately ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on one side. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty, tomato slices, and then the top half of the bun.

Fries Preparation

  1. 6

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about ¼ inch thick.

  2. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 9

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt to taste while still hot.
