Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the potatoes

Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F). Peel and thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife. Rinse the slices in cold water and drain well.

2

Make the cream mixture

In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Heat gently until just warmed through, then remove from heat.

3

Layer the gratin

In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato slices. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the grated Gruyère cheese. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese on top.

4

Add butter

Dot the top of the gratin with small pieces of butter.

5

Bake the gratin

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. After 1 hour, remove the foil and increase the temperature to 200°C (400°F). Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

6

Serve

Let the gratin cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Potato Gratin!
