Cheese Dip
Breadsticks
Method
Cheese Dip
Prepare the Cheese Base
In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Stir continuously until the cheeses are melted and smooth.
Add Seasoning and Flavor
Stir in Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, chopped green onions, sour cream, and hot sauce. Mix well until fully combined and heated through, approximately 5 minutes.
Serve
Once the cheese dip is warm and bubbly, remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish with additional green onions if desired.
Breadsticks
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Make the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and garlic powder. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Breadsticks
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long stick shape and place on a greased baking sheet.
Prepare for Baking
Sprinkle the breadsticks with grated Parmesan cheese and dried oregano. Let them rest for an additional 15 minutes.
Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the breadsticks for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve
Serve warm alongside the Cajun cheese dip.
