Method

Prepare the Sauce

  1. 1

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

Add the onion, green bell pepper, and celery to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Tomatoes

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the Cajun seasoning. Stir well and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Finish the Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Add salt and black pepper to taste, continuing to stir until the sauce is thoroughly combined and heated through.

Cook the Crawfish

  1. 6

    Add Crawfish

Stir the cooked crawfish tails into the sauce, allowing them to heat through for about 5 minutes.

Prepare the Rice

  1. 7

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt.

  2. 8

    Cook Rice

Once boiling, add the white rice to the saucepan. Cover and reduce the heat to low, cooking for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.

  3. 9

    Fluff Rice

Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
