Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Coffee
Brew 300 ml of strong coffee or espresso and let it cool to room temperature.

Combine Coffee and Liqueur
If using, mix in 50 ml of coffee liqueur into the cooled coffee and set aside.
Make the Mascarpone Mixture

Separate the Eggs
Carefully separate the egg yolks from the whites. Place the yolks in a mixing bowl and the whites in a separate bowl.

Whip the Egg Yolks and Sugar
Add 100 grams of granulated sugar to the egg yolks and whisk until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Incorporate Mascarpone
Gently fold in 500 grams of mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

Whip the Egg Whites
Using a mixer, beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture to add volume.

Add Whipped Cream
In another bowl, whip 250 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Base
Place a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish or individual glasses.

Add Mascarpone Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
Serve the Tiramisu

Dust with Cocoa
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 30 grams of cocoa powder.

If desired, sprinkle dark chocolate shavings over the cocoa powder for garnish.
