Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add the Tomatoes and Season

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Combine with Meatballs

Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.

Linguine

  1. 7

    Cook the Linguine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Assembly and Garnish

  1. 8

    Combine and Serve

In a large serving bowl, combine the cooked linguine with the marinara sauce and meatballs. Toss gently to coat the pasta. Serve hot, garnished with extra grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley as desired.
