Prepare the Calamari
Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Make the Batter
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well.

Prepare the Buttermilk Mixture
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and the egg until well combined.

Coat the Calamari
Dip each calamari ring in the buttermilk mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated.

Fry the Calamari
Fry the coated calamari in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serve the crispy calamari hot with the spicy aioli on the side.
Spicy Aioli

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, sriracha sauce, lemon juice, and salt. Mix until smooth.

Adjust Seasoning
Taste the aioli and adjust the salt or sriracha sauce to your preference for spiciness.

Refrigerate the aioli for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
