Crab Cake Patty

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Crab Cake Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Gently fold the mixture until just combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the crab mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick. Place patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them set.

  3. 3

    Cook Patties

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and let rest.

Creole Remoulade Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Remoulade Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, and chopped green onions. Stir until well mixed. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble Sandwich

Slice the brioche buns in half and toast them lightly if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, place a crab cake patty. Top with sliced red bell peppers and a generous handful of arugula.

  2. 6

    Add Remoulade

Spread a spoonful of the creole remoulade on the top half of the bun before placing it on top of the assembled sandwich.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the crab cake sandwiches with your choice of side, such as fries, slaw, or a side salad.
