Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Linguine

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels, leaving the drippings in the skillet.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the diced chicken breast. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add olive oil if needed, and sauté the diced red onion and sliced mushrooms until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant. Then, pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper, mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 6

    Combine Everything

Add the cooked linguine, chicken, and crispy bacon to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together until the linguine is well coated with the sauce.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Top with sliced green onions and additional grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy your Chicken Carbonara!
