Caramel and Garnish

Method

Bread Pudding Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brioche

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the brioche bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine and Soak

Pour the wet mixture over the brioche cubes and gently stir to coat. Let it soak for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pudding

Transfer the soaked bread mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Vanilla Bourbon Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

  2. 6

    Add Sugar and Cream

Once the butter is melted, add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Then add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, stirring continuously.

  3. 7

    Finish the Sauce

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and bourbon. Set aside to cool slightly.

Serving and Garnishing the Dish

  1. 8

    Serve the Bread Pudding

Once the bread pudding is done baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.

  2. 9

    Add Sauce and Garnish

Drizzle the vanilla bourbon sauce over the warm pudding. Finish with a drizzle of caramel sauce and a dusting of powdered sugar before serving.
