Method

For the Bourbon Salmon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, whisk together bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Salmon

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove salmon from the marinade and shake off excess. Season with salt and pepper. Place salmon in skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and caramelized.

For the Cheddar Grits

  1. 4

    Cook the Grits

In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Gradually whisk in grits and reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes until grits are creamy.

  2. 5

    Add Cheese and Butter

Once grits are cooked, stir in shredded cheddar cheese and butter. Mix well and season with salt to taste.

For the Sautéed Veggies

  1. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced bell pepper, zucchini, and carrot. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until vegetables are tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
