Cajun Cheese Dip

Method

Cajun Cheese Dip

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and monterey jack cheese. Mix until well blended.

  2. 2

    Add Seasonings

Add cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and diced jalapeño (if using) to the cheese mixture. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Green Onions

Fold in the chopped green onions gently into the cheese mixture.

  4. 4

    Heat the Dip

Transfer the cheese mixture to a baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.

House-Made Breadsticks

  1. 5

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 6

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until the dough begins to form.

  3. 7

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 8

    Let it Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 9

    Shape the Breadsticks

Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions. Roll each portion into a long stick shape.

  6. 10

    Bake the Breadsticks

Place the shaped breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with garlic powder and parmesan cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
