Method

Cooking the Prawns

  1. 1

    Prepare the Boiling Water

In a large pot, bring 1 litre of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tsp of salt and the sliced lemon to the water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Prawns

Once the water is boiling, add the peeled and deveined prawns. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the prawns turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Drain and Cool

Remove the prawns from the pot using a slotted spoon and transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tbs of horseradish sauce, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, and 2 tbs of lemon juice.

  2. 5

    Season the Sauce

Add Tabasco sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Plating the Dish

  1. 6

    Prepare the Serving Plate

On a serving plate, place the lettuce leaves to form a bed for the prawns.

  2. 7

    Add Prawns and Sauce

Arrange the cooled prawns on top of the lettuce leaves and drizzle with the cocktail sauce.

  3. 8

    Garnish

Add lemon wedges around the plate for garnish and serve immediately.
