Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cooking the Protein and Vegetables
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and place on a paper towel to drain excess grease.
- 3
Sauté Chicken and Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the diced chicken breast and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Add the mushrooms, red onion, and minced garlic, and sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
Making the Sauce
- 4
Prepare the Cream Sauce
Lower the heat and add the heavy cream to the skillet. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Combining Everything
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked linguine, crispy bacon, and chopped green onions to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well-coated with the sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
