Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the olive oil and the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough begins to form.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 6

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 7

    Prepare the Pan

Grease a deep-dish pizza pan with olive oil.

  3. 8

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two portions. Roll out one portion into a circle that fits your pan, leaving some excess to create a crust.

  4. 9

    Add Cheese and Toppings

Layer the bottom of the pan with half of the mozzarella cheese, followed by your choice of three toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions).

  5. 10

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Pour half of the pizza sauce over the toppings and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layering with the second portion of dough.

  6. 11

    Final Touches

Spread the remaining pizza sauce over the top layer of cheese and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.

Baking

  1. 12

    Bake the Pizza

Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  2. 13

    Cooling and Serving

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
