Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Chicken and Bacon

While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bacon slices and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon, crumble it, and set aside, keeping the bacon fat in the skillet.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the chicken breasts. Season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Remove the chicken, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice into strips.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add diced red onion and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are tender. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Add Green Onions

Chop the green onions and add them to the skillet. Stir and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Making the Sauce

  1. 6

    Prepare the Sauce

In the skillet with the sautéed vegetables, lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the skillet.

  2. 7

    Add Cheese

Gradually mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth. Season with additional salt and black pepper to taste.

Final Assembly

  1. 8

    Combine and Serve

Add the cooked bowtie pasta, sliced chicken, and crumbled bacon to the sauce. Toss everything together until well combined. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
