Method
Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water, then dry it using a salad spinner or by patting it with a clean kitchen towel. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add the Croutons and Cheese
Add the croutons to the bowl with the chopped romaine lettuce. Grate the Parmesan cheese over the top, ensuring even coverage.
Dressing Preparation
- 3
Make the Dressing
In a small bowl or a food processor, combine the garlic cloves, anchovy fillets, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.
- 4
Emulsify the Dressing
While whisking or blending, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the dressing is well combined and has a creamy consistency.
Assembly
- 5
Combine Salad and Dressing
Pour the homemade Caesar dressing over the salad mixture in the large bowl. Toss gently to coat the lettuce, croutons, and Parmesan cheese evenly with the dressing.
- 6
Serve
Serve the Caesar salad immediately on individual plates or in bowls. Optionally, garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper.
