Ingredients for Panini di Salsiccia o Polpette
Method
Directions for Making Panini di Salsiccia o Polpette
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine the Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet over medium heat, add butter. Once melted, add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- 4
Add Tomato Sauce
Pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Cover and let simmer for an additional 10 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
- 5
Prepare the Garlic Rolls
While the meatballs are cooking, slice the garlic rolls in half and toast them lightly.
- 6
Assemble the Panini
Place a meatball on the bottom half of each toasted garlic roll, spoon some sauce over it, and sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Top with the other half of the garlic roll.
- 7
Serve
Serve the sliders warm with extra tomato sauce on the side.
