Millefoglie Ingredients

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Puff Pastry

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Roll out the puff pastry to about 3mm thick and cut into equal rectangles. Place the rectangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Prick the pastry with a fork to prevent it from puffing too much, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.

  2. 2

    Make the Chantilly Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip the mixture until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip, as it can turn into butter.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Millefoglie

Once the puff pastry has cooled, take one rectangle and spread a layer of chantilly cream on top. Place another layer of puff pastry on top and repeat the process until you have stacked three layers of pastry with cream in between. Finish with a final layer of cream on top.

  4. 4

    Garnish and Serve

Optionally, garnish the top with fresh berries and a dusting of powdered sugar. Slice into pieces and serve immediately.
