Method

Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the beef mixture into a round patty, approximately 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Cooking Surface

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. You can add a little oil to the pan if desired.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the patty on the hot skillet or grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side until it reaches your desired doneness.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Toast the Bread

While the patty is cooking, toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place the cooked patty on one slice of toasted bread. If using, add a slice of cheese on top of the patty, then add lettuce, tomato, and condiments such as ketchup and mustard. Top it with the second slice of toasted bread.

  3. 7

    Serve

Cut the sandwich in half if desired, and serve immediately with your choice of side.
