Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium rare. Adjust cooking time if you prefer well-done burgers.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf followed by the cooked patty. Add a slice of tomato, cheese (if using), and condiments like ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
