Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making them slightly larger than the bread slices.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked to your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Toast the Bread

While the patties are cooking, melt the butter in another skillet over medium heat. Toast the slices of white bread in the butter until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Toppings

Slice the tomato into thin rounds and wash the lettuce leaves. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On one slice of toasted bread, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty (with cheese if using), tomato slices, ketchup, and mustard. Top with another slice of toasted bread.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately with your choice of sides.
