Chicken Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a separate shallow dish, mix the all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, coating thoroughly. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Slaw Preparation
- 4
Mix the Slaw
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until well mixed. Adjust seasoning to taste and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Assembly

Assemble the Sandwich
Lightly toast the brioche buns. Place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a generous amount of slaw and add pickles. Close with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
