Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Peel and devein the shrimp if not already done. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Chop Vegetables

Slice the bell pepper, julienne the carrot, and cut the broccoli into small florets. Mince the garlic and ginger.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, cornstarch, and water until smooth.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Wok

Place a wok over high heat and add the vegetable oil. Allow the oil to heat until shimmering.

  2. 5

    Stir-Fry the Aromatics

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the hot oil. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Add the Vegetables

Add the sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, and julienned carrot to the wok. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  4. 7

    Cook the Shrimp

Push the vegetables to the side of the wok and add the shrimp to the center. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through.

  5. 8

    Add the Sauce

Pour the prepared sauce over the shrimp and vegetables. Stir to coat everything evenly and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Serving

  1. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the wok from heat. Garnish the stir-fry with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
