Preparation

1

Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Set aside.

2

Chop the Vegetables

Slice the bell pepper, carrot, and chop the green onions, and mince the garlic. Set all vegetables aside.

Cooking

3

Heat the Wok

Place a wok over high heat and allow it to get very hot, about 2 minutes.

4

Add Oil and Garlic

Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the hot wok. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

5

Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the wok and set aside.

6

Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same wok, add the sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, and carrot. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.

7

Combine the Shrimp and Sauce

Return the cooked shrimp to the wok. Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the shrimp and vegetables to absorb the sauce.

Serving

8

Serve the Dish

Transfer the stir-fried shrimp and vegetables to a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro before serving.
