Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

Place 1 cup of jasmine rice in a fine mesh strainer and rinse it under cold running water for about 1-2 minutes, or until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and helps prevent the rice from becoming gummy.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed jasmine rice, 1.5 cups of water, and 0.5 tsp of salt. Stir gently to ensure the rice is evenly distributed in the water.

  3. 3

    Bring to a Boil

Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Keep an eye on it to prevent any overflow.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Rice

Once the water reaches a rolling boil, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed.

  5. 5

    Fluff the Rice

After 15 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat but keep it covered. Let it sit for an additional 5 minutes to allow the rice to steam. Then, uncover and use a fork to fluff the rice gently.

  6. 6

    Serve

Transfer the jasmine rice to a serving dish or bowl and serve warm as a side dish or base for your favorite dishes.
