Mix the Cocktail
In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon or rye whiskey, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, and orange bitters.

Stir and Chill
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir well for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.

Prepare the Glass
Place a large ice cube in an Old Fashioned glass (or rocks glass).

Strain the Mixture
Using a strainer, pour the chilled mixture over the large ice cube in the glass.

Garnish
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink and drop it in. Add a maraschino cherry on top for garnish.
