Steak Marinade

Method

Steak Marinade

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Mix until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the hanger steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for the best flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, letting any excess marinade drip off. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Taco Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Tacos

Warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a skillet until they are pliable. Lay out the tortillas on a serving platter.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Tacos

On each tortilla, place a generous amount of shredded napa cabbage, followed by several slices of the grilled hanger steak. Top with pickled cucumbers, sliced green onions, and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds. Add sriracha sauce to taste.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the tacos immediately, allowing guests to add additional sriracha if desired.
