Prepare the Pears and Figs
Wash the pears and figs. Slice the pears into thin wedges and quarter the figs. Set aside.

Chop the Walnuts
Roughly chop the walnuts into small pieces and set aside.

Caramelize the Pears and Figs
In a medium skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced pears and cook for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the quartered figs and continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes until both fruits are caramelized. Stir in honey, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

Toast the Sourdough
While the fruits are caramelizing, toast the sourdough slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown and crispy.

Assemble the Dish
Spread a generous layer of ricotta cheese onto each toasted slice of sourdough. Top with the caramelized pear and fig mixture, ensuring each slice is well covered. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top for added crunch.
