Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indent in the middle of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

Cooking the Burger Patty

  1. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the brioche buns in half. Toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Layer the Toppings

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slice, and onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
