Crispy Pork Carnitas Ingredients

Method

Crispy Pork Carnitas Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a slow cooker, combine the pork shoulder, orange juice, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the pork is evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Discard any excess fat.

  4. 4

    Crisp the Pork

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the shredded pork on a baking sheet in an even layer. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are crispy.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the crispy carnitas topped with diced onion, chopped cilantro, and a drizzle of chiltepin hot sauce. Enjoy!
