In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

Add the cooked penne pasta to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
