Crispy Fried Portabello Slices

Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mushrooms

Clean the portobello mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, set up your breading station: one with flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with milk, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  3. 3

    Bread the Mushrooms

Dip each mushroom slice first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each slice is well coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Mushrooms

Carefully place the breaded mushroom slices into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried mushrooms from the oil and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with Special Luna Pepper Ranch Dip.
