Method
Bread Pudding Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the day-old bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes. Add the raisins and gently stir until the bread is well coated. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the liquid.
- 4
Prepare Baking Dish
Grease a baking dish with butter. Pour the bread pudding mixture into the prepared dish and spread it evenly.
- 5
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
Caramel Sauce Preparation
- 6
Make Caramel
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- 7
Cook Caramel
Increase heat and bring the mixture to a boil without stirring. Allow it to boil until it turns a deep amber color.
- 8
Add Cream
Remove from heat and carefully whisk in the heavy cream. Be cautious as it may bubble and steam. Let it cool slightly.
Serving
- 9
Plate the Dish
Once the bread pudding is baked and slightly cooled, cut it into squares and place a piece on each serving plate.
- 10
Add Caramel
Drizzle the warm caramel sauce over each piece of bread pudding.
- 11
Serve with Ice Cream
Top each serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy your Budin Con Helado!
