Tiramisu Ingredients

Method

Tiramisu Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Espresso

Brew the espresso and let it cool to room temperature. If using coffee liqueur, mix it in with the espresso.

  2. 2

    Make the Cream Mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks with granulated sugar until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  3. 3

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

  4. 4

    Dip the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso, making sure not to soak them. Lay them in a single layer in a dish.

  5. 5

    Layer the Tiramisu

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of dipped ladyfingers. Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.

  6. 6

    Chill and Serve

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
