Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potato Topping

Boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash them with olive oil, salt, and pepper until smooth. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Filling

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent. Add ground Wagyu beef and cook until browned. Stir in diced carrots, mushrooms, peas, tomatoes, black lentils, and walnuts. Season with thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in vegetable broth and let simmer for 10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Pie

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture into a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top, smoothing it out with a spatula.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.

  5. 5

    Serve

Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Shepherd’s Pie!
