Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Sauté Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn it.

  2. 2

    Add Tomatoes

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, stirring to combine with the garlic. Bring to a simmer.

  3. 3

    Season the Sauce

Add the chopped basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and sugar to the tomato mixture. Stir well.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow the flavors to meld together.

  5. 5

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the marinara sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed. If it’s too acidic, you can add a bit more sugar.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the sauce has thickened and the flavors are to your liking, remove from heat and serve over your favorite pasta or use as a base for other dishes.
