Biscotti Ingredients

Method

Biscotti Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs and vanilla extract until frothy.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. 5

    Add Nuts and Dried Fruits

Fold in the almonds and dried cranberries (or chocolate chips) until evenly distributed.

  6. 6

    Shape the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a log about 12 inches long and 3 inches wide.

  7. 7

    First Bake

Place the log on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until lightly golden and firm to the touch.

  8. 8

    Cool and Slice

Remove the log from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Then, carefully slice it into 1/2 inch thick pieces.

  9. 9

    Second Bake

Lay the slices on their sides on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.

  10. 10

    Cool and Serve

Let the biscotti cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
