Begin by rimming your glass with salt. To do this, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a plate of salt to coat it evenly.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, triple sec, and fresh lime juice. Fill the shaker with ice and secure the lid tightly.

Shake the cocktail shaker vigorously for about 15 seconds to ensure the ingredients are well mixed and chilled.
