Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and lime juice. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Add the Steak

Add the flank steak to the marinade, ensuring that it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak thinly against the grain.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 5

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, until pliable.

  2. 6

    Fill the Tacos

Place a portion of the sliced steak on each tortilla.

  3. 7

    Add Toppings

Top each taco with chopped onion and cilantro.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
