Graham Cracker Crust

Key Lime Filling

Method

Graham Cracker Crust

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool while preparing the filling.

Key Lime Filling

  1. 3

    Mix the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, egg yolks, and lime zest. Whisk together until smooth and fully combined.

  2. 4

    Fill the Crust

Pour the key lime filling into the prepared graham cracker crust, spreading it evenly.

  3. 5

    Bake the Pie

Bake the pie in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes, just until the filling is set. Remove from the oven and allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or overnight for best results.

Topping

  1. 6

    Prepare the Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream on medium-high speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar, and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Pie

Once the pie has cooled and set, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top of the pie. Garnish with lime slices.
