Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F) with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

  2. 6

    Roll Out the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness, about 12 inches in diameter.

  3. 7

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the surface and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

  4. 8

    Add Vegetables

Layer the sliced red bell pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, red onion, and spinach over the cheese. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and black pepper to taste.

  5. 9

    Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

    Slice and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, then slice it into wedges and serve hot.
