Shrimp Preparation

Optional for Frying

Method

Marinating the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Step 1

In a large bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors infuse.

Grilling the Shrimp

  1. 3

    Step 3

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers for easier grilling.

  2. 4

    Step 4

Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and opaque. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Frying the Shrimp

  1. 5

    Step 5

If frying, set up a breading station: place all-purpose flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and cornmeal in a third bowl.

  2. 6

    Step 6

Dip each marinated shrimp first in flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with cornmeal.

  3. 7

    Step 7

Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded shrimp in batches (do not overcrowd the pan). Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  4. 8

    Step 8

Remove the fried shrimp from the pan and drain on paper towels. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
