Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare Pickles
Drain the sliced dill pickles on paper towels to remove excess moisture. Pat them dry to ensure they fry up crispy.

- 4
Heat Oil
In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat to about 350°F (175°C). You can check the oil temperature with a thermometer or by dropping a small amount of batter in; it should sizzle immediately.
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the breaded pickle slices to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Once all the pickles are fried, serve them hot with ranch dressing on the side.
Ranch Dressing
- 7
Mix Ranch Dressing
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
- 8
Chill
Cover the ranch dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
