Method
Crab Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- 2
Form the Crab Fingers
Take small portions of the crab mixture and shape them into finger-like forms, about 2-3 inches long. Place them on a plate or tray.
- 3
Coat with Breadcrumbs
Spread the breadcrumbs on a flat plate. Roll each crab finger in the breadcrumbs until fully coated. Set aside.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Crab Fingers
Carefully place the coated crab fingers into the hot oil, a few at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain Excess Oil
Using a slotted spoon, remove the crab fingers from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 7
Serve
Serve the fried crab fingers hot, with your choice of dipping sauce on the side.
