Method

Preparation of Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Cut the Tuna

Using a sharp knife, cut the ahi tuna into small cubes, about 1/2 inch in size. Place the cubes in a mixing bowl.

Marinating

  1. 2

    Combine Marinade Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

  2. 3

    Add to Tuna

Pour the marinade over the cubed ahi tuna and gently toss to coat all the pieces evenly.

  3. 4

Incorporate Green Onions and Sesame Seeds

Chop the green onions and add them along with the sesame seeds to the tuna mixture. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 5

    Marinate

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Ahi Poke

After marinating, carefully remove the bowl from the refrigerator. Serve the ahi poke in small bowls or on a plate, garnished with additional green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
