Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add orange juice, orange zest, olive oil, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Combine and Bake

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Cool the Cake

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Lemon Ice Cream Preparation

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Whisk until smooth.

  2. 7

    Chill and Freeze

Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, or pour into a freezer-safe container and freeze for 4-6 hours until firm.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dessert

Slice the orange olive oil cake and serve each slice with a scoop of lemon ice cream on the side. Garnish with fresh figs drizzled with honey.
