Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the littleneck clams under cold running water to remove any sand or grit. Soak them in a bowl of saltwater for about 20 minutes to help them purge any remaining sand.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Wine and Clams

Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer. Add the cleaned clams to the skillet and cover with a lid. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open up.

  4. 4

    Finish the Dish

Once the clams are open, remove from heat. Squeeze the juice of the lemon over the clams, and stir in the remaining butter. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add chopped parsley for garnish.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the clams in a bowl with the broth and garnish with additional parsley. Enjoy with crusty bread for dipping.
