Method

Prepare the Cream Mixture

  1. 1

    Combine the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolks until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Prepare the Espresso Mixture

  1. 3

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 240 ml of fresh espresso and let it cool slightly. If using coffee liqueur, mix it into the espresso.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 4

    Dip the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture, making sure not to soak them. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.

  2. 5

    Layer the Cream

Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.

  3. 6

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the cream, followed by the remaining mascarpone cream. Smooth the top layer nicely.

Chill and Serve

  1. 7

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

  2. 8

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Slice and serve chilled.
