Method

Cobbler Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pears

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel and slice the pears, then toss them with half a cup of granulated sugar in a large bowl. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar. Mix well. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Cobbler

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Carefully spoon the prepared pear mixture on top of the batter, spreading evenly.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Serve

Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. It’s delicious on its own or topped with pecan brittle ice cream.
